TAMIL NADU URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT (TNUIP)
TNUIP was launched with the assistance of JBIC and the loan agreement between JBIC and GOI has been executed on 10.03.2008 and the Government accorded administrative sanction for the implementation of JBIC line of credit. The total outlay of the project is JPY 9824 million, of which JBIC line of credit is JPY 8551 million.
COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT
The projects consists of JPY 5650 million (equivalent to about Rs.198.25 crores) towards loan, JPY 2422 million (equivalent to about Rs. 84.98 crores) towards capital grant and JPY 479 million (equivalent to about Rs. 16.81 crores) towards technical assistance.
PROJECTS UNDER IMPLEMENTATION
The funds ( Loan of Rs.109.18 crores and Grant of Rs.84.98 crores) have been committed for one water supply and 3 UGSS. The entire grant component has been committed and loan component available is Rs.89.07 crores. All the four sub-projects sanctioned under TNUIP are in procurement stages and hence there are no disbursements up to 31.3.2009.
