The Union Government, Tamil Nadu Government, Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited and KfW( German Development Bank) signed an agreement on 09.07.2008 for a financial assistance of Rs.534 crore to fund urban sector projects for water supply, sanitation and transport. The agreement was signed in the presence of Local administration Minister M.K. Stalin.

Mr. Vikram Kapur, IAS, (MD & CEO, TNUIFSL) was invited by U.N. Department of Economics and Social Affairs Financing and Development Office to participate in an expert group meeting on "Innovative Finance for Sustainable Development" at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 18-19 October 2007, which was hosted by The Division for Sustainable Development and the Financing for Development Office.

The objective of the meeting was to provide a platform to stimulate discussion on financial innovations pertaining to a range of issues in sustainable development.
